WHY EVERYONE NEEDS A WILL

Though there are many reasons why you should prepare a Will,
listed below are just a few:

  • If you do not leave a Will behind, the state will decide how to divide your estate. In some cases your estate may go to the state treasury.
  • The state will also decide whom is to provide care for your minor child(ren).
  • The court will appoint an Executor and your estate may be charged a fee that can be in the thousands of dollars. This person may not even know you or your wishes.
  • Without a Will, your spouse may receive less than you intended.
  • Without a surviving spouse, your estate will be up for grabs to all your heirs and your heirs creditors.
  • Without a Will, it is very difficult to provide  for your grandchild(ren)
  • With a Will you may recognize stepchild(ren), where they may otherwise be left out.
  • Without a Will your estate may be taxed at a higher rate.
  • Without a Will, the simple things are going to be overlooked. Examples: I give my brown jacket (that my father gave to me) to my son Nicholas or My wedding ring (that my mother gave to me) to my daughter Tessa.

Your passing is hard enough.
Do not add to the grief by forgetting to do your Will.
